West Ham fans react on Twitter to Feghouli display v Crystal Palace

By Will Butcher

West Ham fans were delighted for winger Sofiane Feghouli on Twitter after he scored his first Hammers goal to help his side earn a 3-0 win.

Feghouli had previously struggled to have an impact at West Ham but the winger slid in a Michail Antonio cross to score the Hammers’ first goal of 2017, before Andy Carroll and Manuel Lanzini scored.

The 27-year-old has failed to hit the heights that were first expected of him in the summer after joining from La Liga giants Valencia at the start of the season, but this goal will do him the world of good.

Algeria international Feghouli, who was overlooked by his national side to represent Algeria at the African Cup of Nations this year, lined up in a front three with Lanzini and Carroll.

West Ham fans were overjoyed for their number seven on Twitter as he found the back of the net, with many claiming that they no longer need wantaway star Dimitri Payet.

Since his move to east London, the former Grenoble ace has made a total of 16 league and cup appearances and has now notched up his first goal in claret and blue.

Sky Italy journalist Gianluca Di Marzio claimed on his website earlier this month that Feghouli was interesting Serie A giants Roma, and a move could still materialise.

In other West Ham news, a Sky journalist has claimed Slaven Bilic played Dimitri Payet against his will.
