West Ham fans mistake new women’s team signing for Erling Haaland

Erling Haaland has been the envy of Premier League fans ever since his move to Manchester City in 2022, with every fanbase dreaming of their club unearthing their own version of the goalscoring machine.

West Ham have been desperate to add more firepower at the top of the pitch in recent transfer windows, and their fans momentarily thought they had hit the jackpot by signing the actual Haaland as their club teased its latest addition.

The Hammers’ women’s team teased the signing of a new Norwegian player via their X account on Friday, before ultimately confirming the arrival of Ylinn Tennebo from Valerenga.

The East Londoners’ clever reveal of the signing had several supporters joking that they had in fact, landed Haaland, as the replies were flooded with optimistic West Ham fans.

West Ham’s clever transfer reveal featured the greyed out silhouette of Tennebo, which tricked many fans into thinking it was Haaland from his long hair.

Hammers pushing to make Taylor Harwood-Bellis their fifth January addition

West Ham have seen a bid rejected for Taylor Harwood-Bellis, as they bid to add further depth to their defence to aid their fight against relegation.

The Southampton star has been linked with a move to the London Stadium for several windows now, and he has been away from the Premier League this season after the Saints’ relegation last term.

Harwood-Bellis is a product of Manchester City’s academy, and was handed his first senior England call-up during Lee Carsley’s interim tenure in charge of the national team.

The Hammers have been unsuccessful with their opening offer for the centre-back, and it remains to be seen whether they will make an improved bid for him.
