West Ham have the edge in Georginio Wijnaldum race after critical update – pundit
Noel Whelan has suggested a move to West Ham makes “complete sense” for Paris Saint-Germain outcast Georginio Wijnaldum.
The former Leeds striker, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, claimed the 31-year-old would favour a move to London.
90min (24 June) claim that PSG are ready to sell the former Liverpool man after just one year in the French capital – with West Ham among a number of Premier League clubs keeping close tabs on the situation.

The report claims the midfielder would prefer a return to the English top-flight – with Everton, Leicester City, Wolves also interested.
Wijnaldum made 22 starts under Mauricio Pochettino in Paris in his first season since joining on a free transfer from Liverpool.
The midfield star made 237 appearances for the Merseysiders – winning the Premier League and Champions League.
Whelan suggested that experience could be a valuable asset for West Ham as they look for summer reinforcements.
“You can’t turn your nose up at a good player like Wijnaldum,” he told Football Insider‘s Ewan Kingsbury.
“I think a move to London makes complete sense from his point of view in terms of location. If you’re coming from a big club like PSG – you’re going to want to come to a cosmopolitan city.
“A lot of big players want to be there.
“He would improve any squad in the Premier League. He’s that good of a player. He’s got experience, experience in the Champions League – and he’d bring a lot to the changing room.
“I think the West Ham fans would be really happy to sign a player like that.”

West Ham will play Europa Conference League football in the 2022-23 season.
The Hammers have already completed the capture of Nayef Aguerd this summer.
