This is when West Ham will sell Declan Rice after Times update – pundit

West Ham may be forced to sell Declan Rice next summer amid concerns regarding his contract situation.

So says ex-Premier League goalkeeper Paddy Kenny, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the 22-year-old West Ham and England midfielder.

The Times reported on 23 August that Rice plans to rebuff any contract offer from West Ham amid frustrations that he is being priced out of a move.

It is claimed that the Hammers will demand at least £100million from any club looking to snatch their prize asset, who has three years left on his deal.

This site first revealed back in July that the Irons were planning to offer Rice a blockbuster contract to keep him sweet for another year.

Kenny claims it is no surprise to see that Rice is reluctant to sign a new deal and predicts that he could fashion his exit next summer.

He told Football Insider correspondent Adam Williams: “He’s got nearly three years left on his contract.

“There is no major rush on his side to sign a new deal. If he does end up leaving then so be it. I’m sure that’s something he will snap up.

“But at the moment, he’s still got a contract and if someone wants to buy him they are still going to have to pay top money.

“There will come a point, maybe next summer, when all of a sudden he’s got two years left and his value might have dropped. They might look to offload him then.
