West Ham senior man compares emerging talent to Man United legend

By Danny Wright

West Ham’s emerging talent Nathan Holland has been compared to Man United legend Ryan Giggs by academy director Terry Westley.

The West Ham senior man drew the comparison between the 18-year-old and the Giggs in the London Evening Standard after Holland opened the scoring in West Ham Under-23s’ 2-0 win over Fulham on Monday.

Holland scored a neatly-placed finish from outside the penalty area while surrounded by Fulham defenders.

It was his first goal in Premier League 2 since joining the Hammers from Everton in January.

“Nathan was brilliant, particularly in the first half,” Westley said. “What a talent we’ve got on our hands.

“He was skipping past players, reminding me of a really young Ryan Giggs. I think he particularly caught people eyes tonight.”

Holland has represented England at four different youth levels and has two Under-19 caps to his name.

He made his England U19 debut in September, playing alongside the likes of Everton’s Tom Davies and West Brom’s Sam Field in a 1-1 draw with Holland.

In other West Ham news, the Hammers should swoop for this striker who is reportedly unsettled at his current club.
