West Ham shock as ‘seriously slow’ side do massive Kudus discount for Tottenham
West Ham have stunned a former Hammer as Mohammed Kudus looks set to join Tottenham on a bargain deal this summer.
Spurs are heading into a new era after parting ways with Ange Postecoglou, and that has become very clear after a number of serious transfer links, with Daniel Levy now appearing to spend big.
The Hammers, on the other hand, are yet to complete any business over a month into the summer transfer window, even despite their 14th-place finish in the Premier League last season.
It was an incredibly tough campaign for all involved at the London Stadium, with Graham Potter already under pressure as the West Ham boss, and things may be about to get much worse.
West Ham fans are up in arms as Kudus closes in on a move to Tottenham, and even after a disappointing 2024/25 season, Don Hutchison believes losing the Ghanaian for cheap could be catastrophic for the club.

Mohammed Kudus to be sold at £30million discount
Taking to X (10 July), ex-Iron Hutchison wrote: “I’ve got a bad feeling for West Ham this season. How on earth can they sell Kudus for £55million when his buyout clause is £85million?
“It’s a squad that is seriously slow. They need to add legs and speed, and have just one…” with the Hammers yet to add any players to the squad.
Graham Potter to rebuild West Ham squad with huge sale
Football Insider verdict
Keith Wyness told Football Insider that West Ham are already “unhappy” with Potter, with further complications possibly set to emerge due to David Sullivan historically being involved in transfers.
If the former Brighton and Chelsea figure is to be successful in East London, he will require the backing of Sullivan and Karren Brady, especially with the the current squad at his disposal.
There are many weak links in the squad heading into the 2025/26 campaign, including Konstantinos Mavropanos, Emerson Palmieri, Luis Guilherme, Guido Rodriguez, and Maxwel Cornet.

It remains to be seen exactly how much the Hammers are going to do over the coming weeks, but it quickly became apparent under Julen Lopetegui that the right players were not there.
Potter’s side were separated from 17th-place Spurs by just five points, leaving supporters extremely frustrated by the current situation, and there are few signs of change.
While Kudus failed to impress last season, notching just nine goal contributions across all competitions, he is a huge talent, and certainly one who will be difficult to replace this summer.
