West Ham star has ‘unfinished business’ after making Nottingham Forest confession

West Ham manager Graham Potter could have lost another star player in the transfer window after Crysencio Summerville made a transfer admission.

Summerville returned from a long-term hamstring injury to participate in West Ham’s 3-0 win over Nottingham Forest.

The 23-year-old marked his nine minute cameo with an assist for Jarrod Bowen’s opening goal, as the Hammers got off the mark in the Premier League.

Potter faces the sack at West Ham, but that win relived some of the pressure on the former Chelsea boss following back-to-back defeats to start the league campaign.

Crysencio Summerville snubs Nottingham Forest approach

As per The Athletic [8 September], Summerville was a target for Nottingham Forest after they lost Anthony Elanga to Newcastle.

Summerville could have replaced Elanga’s renowned electric pace in Nottingham Forest‘s counter-attacking based approach.

Borussia Dortmund were also interested in Summerville on a loan deal, but The Athletic state the Hammers winger “had no interest in leaving,” and has “unfinished business at West Ham.”

“It was a sign of the winger’s commitment to the club and his gratitude for their continued support during a low moment in his career,” The Athletic reported.

Even in his short cameo against Nottingham Forest, Summerville showed Potter the type of player that he has been missing.

Direct and pacey, Summerville brings a threat and energy into the West Ham attack, and his impact alongside striker Callum Wilson was a major positive for Potter in the win at Nottingham Forest.

Nuno Espirito Santo would have hoped Summerville was lining up for Nottingham Forest instead, but the Tricky Trees signed Omari Hutchinson, Dan Ndoye and Dilane Bakwa as wide additions.

If Summerville can keep fit, and continue producing eye catching performances than club’s like Nottingham Forest could reignite their interest next summer.

Summerville looks keen to repay the faith shown from West Ham, and fortunes on the pitch at the London Stadium could turn with his return.
