West Ham ‘will sell Alphonse Areola’ as ‘disaster’ footage drops – Fans react
West Ham fans are insisting the club must sell Alphonse Areola in the summer transfer window after what he did against Nottingham Forest.
Graham Potter’s side once again failed to win at the London Stadium, losing 2-1 after Morgan Gibbs-White gave the visitors the lead thanks to a gift from Areola.
The second half saw Forest grab a second goal through Nikola Milenkovic which ultimately put the nail in the coffin before a late Jarrod Bowen strike.
However, the spotlight was fixed firmly on Areola’s performance after he gifted Gibbs-White the opener just 11 minutes into the game.
In an attempt to play out from the back, he passed the ball straight to the Forest star who fired home, and footage of the incident was quickly shared on social media.
As a result, West Ham fans are now calling for their goalkeeper to be sold and replaced when the transfer window opens next month amid plenty of speculation.
This comes after Football Insider revealed West Ham plan to upgrade on Areola in the summer transfer window with Southampton’s Aaron Ramsdale.

Graham Potter under pressure after West Ham results
Another disappointing result for the Irons is also expected to pile the pressure on Potter after a dreadful spell since his appointment.
The Hammers have won just four games since Potter replaced Julen Lopetegui in January, and have dropped to 15th in the league table.
As a result, former Hammers scout Mick Brown told Football Insider that Potter is under pressure at West Ham and could be sacked if results do not improve next season.
With their final league home game ending in defeat, fans have been left frustrated by his management.
However, Football Insider revealed on 13 April that West Ham are unlikely to sack Potter and will instead look to back him in the transfer market.
Fans turn on Alphonse Areola after Nottingham Forest error
Many West Ham fans have turned on Potter this season, calling for the boss to leave, but there have also been calls for a number of key players to leave.
Supporters’ frustrations have been building throughout the season, but Areola has now been on the end of their anger after his error against Forest.
Taking to social media after the game, fans made their feelings towards the goalkeeper clear as they labelled him “embarrassing” and “horrible”.
