Darren Bent has boldly claimed that Everton could be challenging for the top-four spots in the Premier League with the capture of Moise Kean.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former England striker says that the capture of the Juventus hitman, coupled with their other new arrivals, would elevate the Toffees to the same level as top-flight giants Chelsea, Arsenal and Manchester United.
Bent says that the recruitment at Goodison Park has been impressive but that Kean’s capture would take it to a level which can compete with the biggest sides in England.
Bent told Football Insider: “What a signing, I thought he was good at Juventus and he would stay at Juventus. If Everton can get this over the line then what a signing.
“Everton have made a number of really good signings, if they can get him as well then they are really pushing for that top-four positions.
“You’ve have to put them in the same bracket as Arsenal, Chelsea with the transfer ban, they’re in that bracket with Manchester United. They’ve made some really good signings and Marco Silva’s done a really great job.”
Kean will join Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Cenk Tosun as Marco Silva’s options up front, with Richarlison having also played through the middle under the Portuguese boss.
The Toffees finished eighth in the Premier League last season, three points off Wolves in seventh, 12 points adrift of Manchester United in sixth and 17 away from Tottenham in fourth.
In other Everton news, it can be REVEALED that the club have agreed the terms of a £29million deal.
