What Nottingham Forest fans chanted to Ange Postecoglou against Midtjylland signals disaster

Ange Postecoglou may already be heading for the Nottingham Forest exit doors after the latest defeat at the City Ground.

Postecoglou replaced Nuno Espirito Santo in the dugout ahead of facing Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium last month, and now six games later, the Reds are still without a victory.

Referee Willy Delajod made some questionable decisions along the River Trent, but there was absolutely no excuse for the 3-2 defeat at home against a top-flight Danish side on Thursday, 2 October.

The Reds have drifted down to 17th in the Premier League table, just one point above the relegation zone, and there is now little to no hope in Europe.

By the looks of it, Evangelos Marinakis, who was in attendance, already has a major decision to make.

Nottingham Forest fans want Ange Postecoglou sacked already

After Midtjylland scored their third goal at the City Ground, breaking away on the counter-attack, many would have expected to hear the travelling fans in ecstasy, but no.

The overbearing voices were chanting for the new manager, who has been in charge for just six matches, to already be “sacked in the morning”. It is desperate times for the former Tottenham figure.

Many were hopeful that he could bring success for the Reds, having lifted the Europa League trophy in North London before Daniel Levy made the decision to get rid of him.

Supporters are quickly realising that the grass is not always greener on the other side of the fence, and Nuno is likely to rub salt into their wounds after becoming the new West Ham boss.

What was Nuno Espirito Santo’s win rate with the Reds?

Nuno experienced a very successful spell at the City Ground until finally falling out with those behind the scenes, but supporters will never forget what he brought to the club during his tenure.

With the Reds, he won 38 per cent of his matches in charge, helping the club secure European football last season, and battling against some of the biggest clubs in the Premier League.

While Postecoglou lifted silverware during his time with Spurs, league form was ultimately his downfall, and he left with a 46 per cent win rate. Now, he is still waiting for his first victory with Forest.

It could be a very short time in charge, and given that Marinakis can respond to the fans quite quickly, it would not be a surprise to see the chants proven right after defeat to Midtjylland.
