Whelan backs Leeds to sign 'top talent' after confirmed Thorp Arch reveal
Noel Whelan claims Leeds United will be able to attract top talent when Thorp Arch is redeveloped.
The former Whites hitman, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, reacted after chief executive Angus Kinnear revealed Bielsa is not going on holiday and will instead personally oversee Leeds’ latest training ground improvements.
Speaking on BBC Radio Leeds, Kinnear revealed “significant upgrades” to Thorp Arch will take place in the coming months.
Kinnear went on to say Leeds are “confident” Bielsa will sign a new deal with the club this summer.
Whelan claimed no one can argue with Bielsa when it comes to making key decisions regarding the development of Leeds.
“You have to listen to managers,” Whelan told Football Insider assistant editor Russell Edge.

“So far, you can’t argue with Bielsa. He got us promoted and we had a fantastic first season back in the Premier League.
“You just have to look at the development of the players, the development of the club, it’s all great.
“The development to the training ground is an absolute must. That can also help to attract top talent to Elland Road in the future.”
Bielsa refuses to sign extended deals with his current contract, signed last summer, due to expire in the coming weeks.
He led the Whites to a top half finish during his debut Premier League campaign after winning the Championship the year before.
