Noel Whelan insists Everton will sell Richarlison if the right offer comes in during the upcoming transfer window.

The former Leeds hitman, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, claims the Brazilian’s situation is similar to that of Harry Kane’s.

On Tuesday (3rd June), Football Insider revealed Carlo Ancelotti is keen on raiding Everton for Richarlison after landing the Real Madrid job.

It is understood the Blues are now bracing themselves for the Brazilian to push for a summer exit.

An Everton source has told Football Insider the club will listen to offers for Richarlison if he does push to leave.

The Blues turned down an £85million bid for Richarlison from Barcelona in January 2020 (Sky Sports).

He is under contract at Goodison Park until the summer of 2024 after signing a long-term deal in 2019.

Whelan insists it was a coup for the Toffees to keep Richarlison in 2020 but predicted he could now be sold if the right offer comes in.

“We saw Barcelona try and get him,” Whelan told Football Insider assistant editor Russell Edge.

“They managed to stave that off and that’s a massive coup for Everton. That’s the danger when a manager leaves.

“It’s hard to not go back in and snatch him. When you’ve worked with a player and you’ve seen their talent.

“It’s a really difficult one. It’s like Harry Kane. If it’s the right offer, I think every player has a price. If that offer comes in it will be very difficult to say no.

“Then you have to pacify the fans and sign someone either better, or someone who can emulate what he’s done at Everton.”
