Why Celtic ace should trouble vulnerable Manchester City

By Dominic Toner

Celtic forward Moussa Dembele should be able to cause the Manchester City defence problems on Tuesday night.

The match is expected to be an entertaining one as Brendan Rodgers’ side have already been eliminated from Europe, while Man City have booked their place in the Champions League group stages.

The Bhoys recorded a 3-3 draw at Celtic Park in the September meeting, with Dembele grabbing a well-taken brace.

Celtic will be allowed to express themselves freely and are under no pressure from the fans, but Man City will be under scrutiny after the weekend display.

Pep Guardiola’s side suffered a 3-1 home defeat against Chelsea and they were bullied by Chelsea striker Diego Costa in the second-half.

Celtic forward Dembele will hope to enjoy similar success on Tuesday night and will be looking forward to facing centre-backs John Stones and Nicolas Otamendi.

The pair endured a terrible afternoon against the in-form Costa, who scored a goal and supplied an assist in the win.

Dembele has already shown in the past that he can trouble Man City and is in great form himself.

The 20-year-old has scored 17 goals in just 28 appearances since he moved to the Scottish giants in the summer and has been phenomenal in attack.

The striker’s pace should prove difficult for Man City and he is also very good at holding the ball up.

He has proven that he enjoys the Champions League stage and will be keen to exit the competition in style.

Man City have not kept a clean sheet in their last six games in all competitions and have looked much better in attack than defence under Guardiola.

In other Celtic news, Stuart Armstrong believes that his teammate has great technical ability.
