Why Newcastle should attempt to sign 20-year-old attacker from PL rivals
COMMENT By Derek Smithson
Newcastle should make contact with Premier League rivals Chelsea and try to negotiate a loan deal for their rising star Jeremie Boga.
The Blues have become renowned for sending their young talents away from Stamford Bridge to gain first-team experience and Rafael Benitez should look to capitalise on their philosophy.
Chelsea have already sent Kurt Zouma (Stoke), Tammy Abraham (Swansea), Ruben Loftus-Cheek (Crystal Palace) and Kasey Palmer (Huddersfield) to their league rivals ahead of the new campaign.
Newcastle need to dip into the pool of Chelsea talent and persuade them to part ways with attacker Boga for the next 12 months.
The 20-year-old is a highly rated attacking midfielder that can play anywhere across the frontline and is blessed with great pace and strength.
He made a positive impact in a recent pre-season friendly against Arsenal and the Chelsea fans are desperate for him to be handed a senior role, but he is yet to make his full first-team debut.
Boga is a product of the academy and has enjoyed successful loan spells at Rennes and Granada in recent years.
The Ivory Coast international is now ready for the Premier League and Newcastle could thrive on having this exciting talent at St James’ Park.
The tricky wide man would help provide competition alongside the likes of Jacob Murphy, Christian Atsu and Matt Ritchie in the starting line-up.
He will find it much easier earning a staring position at Newcastle, compared to competing next to star names Willian, Pedro and Eden Hazard.
In other Newcastle transfer news, they are expected to make a move for an international attacking midfielder.
