Newcastle should consider making a move for Arsenal forward Lucas Perez in the summer transfer window to improve their forward options.
The Magpies need to bolster their frontline to help them next season in the Premier League and Rafael Benitez should be eyeing Gunners attacker Perez.
The Sun report that Arsene Wenger will allow the 28-year-old to leave the Emirates Stadium in the summer after finding his first-team chances limited.
It is understood that Everton are weighing up a move for the Spaniard, but Newcastle should consider their own attempt to capture the striker.
Perez will be available to move on in the summer and he would be the perfect addition at St James’ Park.
The Magpies supporters may be concerned that he struggled to force his way into the Arsenal starting XI during his first year in England, but the Gunners fans were fighting his case all year to be included.
Perez made just 21 appearances across all competitions last season, but still managed seven goals and five assists in return.
The ex-Deportivo forward had to make do with several substitute appearances and looked clinical every time he was on the pitch.
He scored a superb hat-trick in a Champions League win away to Basel and Arsenal’s loss could be Newcastle’s gain.
Perez was first picked up by Arsenal after his impressive spell in La Liga with Deportivo, where he scored 17 goals and supplied 10 assists during the 2015/16 season.
In other Newcastle transfer news, they have made contact for a La Liga defender wth an £8.7million release clause.
