Why Pochettino favourite must be sacrificed in Tottenham XI
COMMENT By Dominic Toner
Tottenham ace Eric Dier is an ever-present in Mauricio Pochettino’s side, but must be dropped from the starting line-up.
The 23-year-old is a useful player to have in your squad, with his versatility seeing him play at both centre-back and the centre of midfield this season.
He has been used on the right hand side of a back three regularly, while also filling in at his more recognised defensive midfield role.
Spurs manager Pochettino always finds a way to start the England international and he has made the starting line-up in 40 of his 42 appearances this campaign.
However, the Argentinian boss needs to make changes and should sacrifice Dier to give his side a more balanced look.

The north London club suffered a 4-2 defeat to Chelsea on Saturday in the FA Cup semi-final and the clear weakness was Heung-Min Son at left wing-back.
The 24-year-old was undroppable after his spectacular goalscoring form recently, but Pochettino slotted him into an unfamiliar wing-back position.
Spurs resorted to a three-man defence and Dier dropped back from midfield, switching to a 3-4-3 formation to try stifle Chelsea.
They would have been better served keep their 4-2-3-1 formation, which would have maintained the four attacking players of Son, Christian Eriksen, Dele Alli and Harry Kane.
Pochettino then could have used two of his full-back options from Kyle Walker, Kieran Trippier and Ben Davies to strengthen the side.
That would leave Dier competing for either his midfield or defensive role.
Dier is not good enough to get in ahead of Victor Wanyama and Mousa Dembele in the midfield, with the pairing one of the best in the Premier League.
Meanwhile, Jan Vertonghen and Toby Alderweireld are arguably the best defensive partnership in the top-flight.
Pochettino persists on finding room for Dier in the team, but he should be omitted from the starting XI currently as they look their best when playing attacking football.
