Why Tottenham 23-year-old is a liability ahead of Everton clash
COMMENT By Dominic Toner
Tottenham defender Eric Dier could prove to be a liability in the clash against Everton on Monday.
Spurs host the Toffees in the Premier League and will be looking to strengthen their grip on second in the table.
However, they come up against an Everton side that are unbeaten in their last nine leagues and who are making a late run to qualify for Europe.
They may be apprehensive of facing a Spurs side that are very strong at White Hart Lane, but there are certainly weaknesses in their team.
The most obvious way that Everton can damage Spurs is with attacking options Romelu Lukaku, Ross Barkley and Ademola Lookman.

They will be lining up against the three-man defence of Dier, Toby Alderweireld and Jan Vertonghen.
England international Dier plays on the right hand side of the system and is the obvious weak link in the side.
He played as a defensive midfielder last season very effectively for the north London club, but has now had to settle into a defensive shape.
Dier is extremely strong in possession and tackling, but is tactically caught out of position at times and is not being in his best position.
Everton’s frontline should look to exploit the gaps around Dier and don’t be surprised to see star striker Romelu Lukaku drop on to his shoulder.
The forward has scored 18 goals across all competitions this season and has the pace to really catch Dier out.
They also have in-form Barkley and promising youngster Lookman in the attacking areas, who have been a major part of the Merseyside club’s recent form.
Spurs will be confident of dominating possession and securing the three points against Everton, but Mauricio Pochettino should make sure Dier receives some extra defensive cover from Kyle Walker and Victor Wanyama.
In other Tottenham news, Paul Merson has predicted the updoming clash against Everton.
