Out-of-form Celtic star must return to the starting XI to prove his talents
Celtic have turned some indifferent performances recently, most notably in the 1-0 loss to Kilmarnock at Rugby Park.
An intriguing aspect of that game which has not really been commented on was that Scott Sinclair was left on the bench.
It was not a surprise that the Englishman was a substitute, as he had been on the bench when the Hoops defeated Hearts 3-1 prior to their visit to Rugby Park, but it is still a bit odd that the Bhoys’ top scorer did not start either match.
It therefore did not come as shock when Sinclair eventually made an appearance against Killie, replacing the injured Kristoffer Ajer in the first-half.
Unfortunately for the Bhoys, he did not have the best of matches as the Hoops slumped to a 1-0 defeat.
You would imagine though, as the Hoops face a Scottish Cup tie against Partick and a Europa League clash against Zenit in the next seven days that Sinclair will make his return to the starting line-up.
His form may not be as impressive as it was last season, but he is still the Bhoys’ top scorer with 17 goals so far this season, and therefore must be making a return to the starting XI.
On his day Sinclair is by far the best player in Scotland, and in the next two matches he has the chance to prove it.
