Wolves 23-year-old named in EFL team of the week

By Aramide Oladipo

Wolverhampton Wanderers forward Ivan Cavaleiro has been named in the English Football League team of the week following his stunning performance against Burton Albion on Saturday afternoon.

The 23-year-old produced two assists and he was involved in the build-up for another as Wolves picked up three points at the Pirelli Stadium, beating Nigel Clough’s side 4-0.

Diego Jota, Romain Saiss, Ruben Vinagre and substitute Lohner Leo Bonatini found themselves on the scoresheet this past weekend but it was Cavaleiro who was pulling the strings throughout the entire 90 minutes.

The result means that the Nuno Espirito Santo’s team have now won seven out of their opening 11 league matches and they currently sit in the automatic promotion places, just one point off table topping Cardiff City.

The winger was the only Wolves player selected in the EFL team of the week which was revealed on their official website on Monday afternoon.
