Wolves dropped another two points in their quest for the Championship title with a 2-2 draw against Norwich on Wednesday night, and fans were not happy with the performance of Benik Afobe.
The returning striker, on loan from Premier League Bournemouth, made his fourth cameo appearance for Wolves last night after he was given 30 minutes to impress.
Wolves were 2-1 up at the time and seemingly heading for another three points when Nelson Oliveira popped up off the bench to score an equaliser for Norwich in the 93rd minute.
It might be another point on the road to a seemingly inevitable title, but Wolves fans were gutted at the manner of the draw and not impressed with Afobe.
One fan said he was hopelessly off the pace, while another said there must be something wrong with the striker.
Another fan didn’t pull any punches – he just said the player was “atrocious”.
Here are the best reactions from Wolves fans to the returning striker:
Not sure if Costa was injured but wouldn't have changed our shape it made us too negative. Afobe looks bereft of any confidence hiding behind defenders, didn't get any decent service to be fair but doesn't build attacks like Bonatini

I am beginning to think Afobe doesn't suit our style of play after all. Have Wolves scored a goal whilst he has been on the pitch yet? #wwfc

I thought Cav was not having a great game last night but did offer a decent outlet. Not sure Afobe is clicking in this team at all though. #wwfc

it's a shame Afobe can't play in our system, Leo has to start ahead of him from now onwards

Completely agree. We still controlled the 2nd half and Norwich never really looked like scoring. Pot shot from the 30 yards in the last minute. Only negative for me was Afobe. Looks well behind the pace and not in sync with the way Nuno wants us to play. Gibbs-White brilliant.

Afobe flat-footed waiting for ball. Not up to speed. Not good enough

And rightly so, more are starting to remember. Name your 3 favourite #wwfc performances this season, you’ll probably find Bonatini was pivotal. No time for sentiment with Afobe or Costa, it’s time to get the job done ASAP. Cav/Leo/Jota 👍🐺

I’ll agree with that.. Afobe’s trying but somethings not right with him.. Leo links the play up far far better.. he should not have dropped that low in the pecking order imo! … but.. Nuno knows far for about football than me..🔶⚫️🔶🐺👍

Doesn’t help that Afobe was atrocious when he replaced him, put a lot more focus on the change! Did more than enough to win the game albeit conceded two terrible goals. Saturday is massive now!

Wolves are nine points clear at the top of the Championship and face a tough game away at Fulham on Saturday in a 5.30pm kick-off.
