Wolves news: Game-changing Pedro Neto claim issued after ‘big’ news confirmed – Phillips
Pedro Neto’s new contract is “great news for Wolves”, according to Kevin Phillips.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Premier League golden boot winner claimed Neto will be a game-changing player for Wolves now he has returned from a long-term injury.
The 22-year-old returned from almost a year out with a knee injury in the 2-1 win over Leicester City last month (20 February).
He has now played five times in the Premier League this season and was rewarded with a new long-term deal last Wednesday (16 March).
Neto is now under contract at Molineux until the summer of 2027.
“He’s a quality player,” Phillips told Football Insider correspondent Ewan Kingsbury.
“They were obviously gutted when he got injured. He’s a player who can turn a game with his energy, his quality and he can score a goal.
“Naturally any team would have missed him. To get him back and to get him on a new deal is good news.
“Lage has done a great job since he’s gone in there. They play some good stuff with a high press and good energy and he can be a big part of that.
“Yes, it’s great news for Wolves.”

Neto now has 10 goals and 11 assists in 81 Premier League games for Wolves.
He was regarded as one of the most exciting young players in the top-flight before his injury and earned three senior caps for Portugal.
In other news, a medical expert has revealed his ‘understanding is’ a Wolves star could be out for twice as long as the club are letting on.
