The Express & Star newspaper today reported that Wolves Chinese owner Fosun could be the wealthiest in English football.
They have reported that the Chinese conglomerate is now worth “north of £60billion” – an incredible sum of money.
They’ve already spent a lot of money getting Wolves back into the top flight.
And with promotion an almost certainty now, with Wolves 13 points clear of Fulham in third place, fans can start dreaming of a return to the glory days.
Wolves has been a sleeping giant for a long time but with that sort of access to money, they could easily join the Premier League elite.
There’s no guarantees of course. Many a club has spent big money and sacrificed their club at the altar of Premier League and Champions League football.
But Wolves are obviously already way too good for the Championship.
And if the club invests the right money in the summer, for the right players, then it could be a glorious return to the Premier League.
The last time they were there in 2011/12 it all went wrong.
But they’ve already arguably got a squad that can compete and not get relegated and it should get better in the summer.
The last time they won the English top flight was in 58/59. Fans will be dreaming of battling for the title once again, if Fosun makes the right moves at the club.
In other Wolves and Leeds United news, fans have urged the club to hire this former Molineux manager in the summer.
