Danny Mills has tipped Wolves to keep Liverpool target Adama Traore and all of their top players this summer if they qualify for next season’s Champions League.
The former England international, speaking exclusively to Football Insider correspondent Dylan Childs, doubted that any of Nuno Espirito Santo’s team could get into other Champions League teams in England.
The Wanderers suffered defeat to Arsenal this weekend but have impressed on the Premier League’s return.
They are in a strong position to challenge for a top-5 finish and if Manchester City’s European ban is upheld at the Court of Arbitration for Sport it is likely fifth place would be enough to qualify for the Champions League.
Football Insider has revealed that £70m-valued Adama Traore is the subject of interest from Liverpool while Raul Jimenez is being considered by a number of top European clubs.
When asked by Football Insider if qualification for Europe’s elite competition would ensure Nuno keeps his stars this summer and stops a Traore Liverpool transfer in its tracks, Mills said: “Without a doubt.
“The way that club is run with the agents are involved it is quite close-knit from the top down.
“They have paid some good fees for some good players and if they can make it into the Champions League they will stay.
“How many of those players would get into other Champions League sides? I do not think there is many. I know they are very good players who have played well but I do not think any of them get into the English Champions League sides.
“They will be happy to stay and ply their trade in the Champions League and see how well they do.
“They could also qualify through the Europa League as well, so that could be fruitful.”
