Wolves suspension: Cunha in ‘trouble with the FA’ after Ipswich staff incident
Wolves striker Matheus Cunha will be “in trouble with the FA” after he was seen elbowing an Ipswich coach, according to Mike Dean.
Wolves players were seen in another scuffle after full-time after they lost 2-1 to Ipswich at the Molineux on 14 December.
Cunha, 25, was seen aggravated after the whistle and will now possibly face suspension as he clashed with opposition staff on the pitch.
Mario Lemina escaped suspension for his full-time scuffle against West Ham on Monday (9 December). However, he saw his captaincy stripped as punishment for his actions.
Former referee Mike Dean spoke on Sky Sports regarding the latest incident and is convinced that the 25-year-old will face repercussions for his actions.
He said live on Soccer Saturday (5.55pm): “Going back to the suspension. Cunha, the biggest player that they’ve got. I’ve watched the footage back afterwards.
“He elbows the back of the head of one of the Ipswich coaches. Then he pulls his glasses off and throws them to the pitch.
“For me, I think he’ll be in trouble with the FA.”
Wolves suffer another loss as Gary O’Neil men lose heads again
Football Insider opinion
The Midlands club’s defeat leaves them in the relegation zone, stuck in 19th place, and the tension in this match was palpable, with both sides aware of its importance as a relegation ‘six-pointer.’
Their loss to drop rivals Ipswich allowed the Tractor Boys to hold a three-point advantage over them, sitting on 12 points.

A stoppage-time winner made the result even more gut-wrenching for Gary O’Neil, who is desperate for results to turn in his favour. The hierarchy has yet to decide on his future, but pressure continues to mount.
Meanwhile, his players are starting to look like shadows of their former selves. Rayan Ait-Nouri’s first-half lash out plus his own head loss at the end led to a red card after the final whistle, and with suspensions looming, the situation grows more dire.
Next up is an away clash against Leicester City—another must-win in their fight for survival in the top flight.
