Wolves table audacious bid for top-flight striker (not Gayle) - report
By Danny Wright
Wolves have submitted a big-money offer for PSV striker Jurgen Locadia, accoding to a report.
The Mirror claimed in their live transfer blog on Thursday [12:23am] that the Championship side had tabled an audacious bid worth over £10million for Locadia, 23, but are not sure of whether or not a deal could be done due to a number of other clubs pursuing his signature.
It is understood that Wolves are still hopeful that an agreement can be reached by Thursday night’s transfer deadline, but with the high volume of potential suitors, the West Midlands club doesn’t appear too confident.
Former Netherlands Under-21 international Locadia scored just four goals in 15 appearances for PSV across all competitions last season after missing a bulk of the campaign with a serious groin injury.
Wolves are widely reported to be in the hunt for another striker before Thursday’s cut-off and Locadia isn’t the only top-flight forward that Nuno Espirto Santo has had his eyes on in the eleventh hour of the summer window.

Football Insider Verdict
Locadia doesn’t have the best goal scoring record for a PSV striker, but a move to the English Championship could see him hit the back of the net more regularly in an environment where he will be playing with better midfielders. The Dutchman clearly has talent and would be a good addition to Nuno’s squad. The £10million fee seems a bit steep but Locadia has his best playing days ahead of him and now that he has recovered from a serious injury, he looks ready to find his groove once again. It seems that Wolves aren’t too confident of pulling off a move for the PSV forward though, but if you don’t ask, you don’t get.
In other Wolves news, the club are in talks to sign this Premier League colossus who is loved by Jose Mourinho.
