'World class' - Celtic fans blown away by mainstay after win v Hibernian (not McGregor)

By Danny Wright

Celtic fans were left raving about Craig Gordon after his display in the tense 2-2 draw with Hibernian at Parkhead on Saturday.

Gordon, 32, pulled off a stunning save in the second half to ensure that Steven Whittaker didn’t score for Neil Lennon’s side, and that moment has left fans singing his praises on Twitter – with one dubbing his heroics as being “world class”.

The Hoops goalkeeper has received a lot of criticism this season, but after a brilliant save against Rangers last week to deny the in-form Alfredo Morelos and a superb clean sheet against Anderlecht, pundits and fans will no doubt have changed their minds about the Scotland international.

Chris Sutton has been one of the main critics of Gordon, but he has been made to eat his words in the past few games, with the goalkeeper’s latest performance seeming to have kept Celtic’s unbeaten domestic run alive.

Fans also shared that view and here is a selection of their tweets:

However good Gordon’s performance will be, it will no doubt be Callum McGregor who will grab the headlines after his brace helped salvage a point against Hibernian who were 2-1 up at one stage with John McGinn scoring a double of his own.

Gordon has been a mainstay of this Celtic side this season, making 18 appearances across all competitions in all 18 games he has been available for.

In other Celtic news, unlike Gordon, fans tore into this player and urged the club to sell him in January after the draw with Hibs.
