‘Worst I’ve ever seen’ – Leeds fans explode at ‘disgraceful’ flop after what he did vs Arsenal

Daniel Farke still has a major squad issue to fix before the transfer window slams shut after Leeds United lost at home to Arsenal.

As their only deal of the winter window so far, Leeds have signed Facundo Buonanotte on loan until the end of the season, with Harry Gray and Jack Harrison going the other way at Elland Road.

Despite a run of decent performances, Leeds have slipped closer to the Premier League dropzone, sitting just six points above 18th-place West Ham, with Nottingham Forest and Chelsea up next.

Those at Elland Road on Saturday, 31 January, will have felt positive about potentially getting a result against the Gunners after Bukayo Saka was forced out of the warm-ups with a new injury.

Sadly, the Whites found themselves two goals down in the opening 45 minutes, and despite a spirited second half, it was not enough to peg back the league leaders in a 4-0 defeat.

Karl Darlow absolutely destroyed after ‘calamity’ vs Arsenal

The game was pretty much killed off when the Gunners grabbed their second goal in the 38th minute, and it would eventually go down as an own goal from Karl Darlow.

While he was blocked by his own player, Dominic Calvert-Lewin, supporters were furious with his attempt to punch clear, being labelled a “calamity” and “disgraceful”.

Fans were quick to call for a new goalkeeper signing, not trusting any of Darlow, Lucas Perri, or Illan Meslier, but it remains to be seen if the Whites will go back into the market for another shot-stopper.

Daniel Farke could be down a goalkeeper before the window closes

Leeds fans have not been impressed by Perri following his arrival in the summer, but the Brazilian is already being linked with a move away, and the Whites have already rejected a bid for him.

Unsurprisingly, Meslier is also being tipped to leave Elland Road at the 11th hour, having not made a competitive appearance since March, with Leeds still playing in the Championship.

The goalkeeper situation in West Yorkshire is a very frustrating one, with whoever the club choose ending up causing more issues than they solve, and putting Farke straight back to square one.

Wales boss Craig Bellamy will also have an eye on Darlow’s struggles in between the sticks, and should he be dropped on the international stage ahead of the World Cup, it could be the end for the ‘keeper.
