Simon Donnelly: This is how many Rangers players would get into Celtic squad
Former Celtic striker Simon Donnelly has claimed that not a single Rangers would get into the Hoops squad ahead of Sunday’s Old Firm Scottish Cup semi-final at Hampden Park.
Donnelly believes that until the Gers players prove themselves as winners, none of them would get near a Hoops squad that proven itself to be winners many times over.
“You could argue the right-back, James Tavernier, has been decent this season but I wouldn’t swap him for anybody in Celtic’s team” he said, as quoted by the Scottish Sun.
“They are winners at the moment. Until somebody knocks them off their perch I wouldn’t swap any of them.”
The Bhoys go into the game unbeaten against their bitter rivals so far this season, with two wins and a draw so far in the three league games between the sides.

Donnelly is mostly correct here, but there is a chance that perhaps a few Gers players would get into the Hoops squad. For example, despite missing some sitters against the Bhoys Alfredo Morelos has been in excellent form for most of this season and would be worthy of a place in the squad, as would Josh Windass, who has scored plenty of goals from midfield. But overall, the number of Gers players that would get into the Hoops squad is very small, as at this moment in time the Hoops are a much better team, and the results bare that out so far this season.
