'Wow' - Whelan excited by update on Leeds bid to sign Lang
Noel Whelan has raved after Leeds United were handed a major boost in their pursuit of Noa Lang.
The former Leeds striker, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, claimed the “exciting” 22-year-old is the type of player fans want at Elland Road.
As revealed by Football Insider on Thursday (June 24th), Leeds have been told Lang is keen on a move to Elland Road during preliminary talks over a deal.
The winger is understood to be a top target for the Whites this summer.
Lang is set to turn his loan move from Ajax to Brugge permanent for around £6million.
However, the Belgian outfit are open to a quick sale for big profit.

Whelan told Football Insider’s Russell Edge: “I’ve seen his highlight reel and I’ve looked at him as a player from the wide areas.
“Wow, does he score some goals in that central area. He’s a player that likes to get in the box, very attacking, great feet, got an eye for a pass. There’s creativity in abundance and he loves to score.
“He loves to get in there, loads of energy. That is what Leeds United is all about. Energy, attacking, players that have got that fitness level to do both sides of the game
“That could be a really, really impressive signing if we are serious about him, and it seems now we are. I think he would really compliment the way Marcelo Bielsa likes to set his team up.
“He’d be great competition. He’s exciting and that’s what the fans want to see.”
Lang scored 17 goals and contributed 11 assists in 38 appearances during the 2020/21 campaign.
He has eight caps for Holland’s under-21s and has played 14 times for Ajax.
