Xia delivers verdict on Aston Villa win v Sheff Wed, wants improvement in two areas
By Will Butcher
Tony Xia has hailed his Aston Villa stars after they secured a 2-0 victory over Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday at Villa Park.
A brace from Ivory Coast international Jonathan Kodjia saw Steve Bruce’s Midlands giants win their fourth game in five outings, as their opponents went down to 10 men just after half-time.
Villa owner Xia was delighted on his personal Twitter account, but is desperate to see his side increase their “attacking solutions” and suffer “less injuries” to continue their return to form.
Great win with another clean sheet but want see more attacking solutions and less injuries so we can get more matches to gel the team.#UTV

Manager Bruce is currently suffering from a huge injury crisis, as he was forced to add senior duo Henri Lansbury and Nathan Baker to an already large absentee list.
They join the likes of Gabby Agbonlahor, Birkir Bjarnason and Scott Hogan on the injury table, as Bruce’s squad is reduced to its bare bones.

The win sees Bruce’s side rise to 12th position in the league, with 14 points still separating themselves and the Championship’s top six.
Bruce’s men will be desperate to welcome back some of his crocked stars in a week’s time, as he returns to his old stomping ground to face Wigan on Saturday.
Three points against Warren Joyce’s side could see Villa continue their sublime recent form and climb above 11th places Barnsley, if the Tykes suffer defeat to Norwich in east Anglia.
