‘Massive, Yamada is doomed’ – Celtic fans react to ‘sensational’ news
Callum Osmand’s fine week is continuing with Celtic fans left delighted at the clubs latest announcement.
Celtic beat Rangers 3-0 in the Scottish League Cup semi-finals, with Osmand scoring the third goal in extra-time to seal the victory.
The Hoops will face St Mirren in the final in December, with the club looking to have appointed a permanent manager before then following the resignation of Brendan Rodgers.
Osmand did not make an appearance for Celtic under Rodgers, but Martin O’Neill’s interim period as manager has changed his fortunes at the club since joining from Fulham.

Callum Osmand joins Celtic’s Europa League squad
Celtic fans blasted Rodgers for holding back Osmand, and Hoops supporters have now been left wondering why the 19-year-old was not included in the Europa League squad.
Osmand has missed Celtic’s victory over Sturm Graz, defeat to Braga and 1-1 draw away at Red Star Belgrade so far.
Following the clubs announcement on social media that Osmand has now been included in the squad following a long-term injury to Cameron Carter-Vickers, one fan commented: “Brilliant news!!! Shame on Brendan for holding him back!”
Whilst a fan said: “This is sensational news.”
“This is massive for Callum. A very rapid turn around from being frozen out all together, To now being the thick of it all. Well done Shaun Maloney for giving him his chance and Martin O’Neill for allowing him to express himself,” another supporter commented.
Whilst the news may not be welcomed by fellow striker Shin Yamada: “Between this & Maloney saying that he knew MON would love the kid, I think Yamada is doomed. We’ve seen so little of him it’s difficult to know if that’s a bad thing, but to bring in a striker that 2 managers don’t want is a 1.5m disaster Who is responsible? Who is accountable?”
“This boy has had some week eh?,” a fan commented.
“Great stuff, he & Kenny can do the business,” another supporter said.
Osmand could make European debut vs Midtjylland
Osmand’s goal and bright cameo against Rangers could mean he makes his European debut against Midtjylland on Thursday.
Celtic are currently 21st in the table, with their Danish opponents on top having won all three matches so far, including against Nottingham Forest.
Midtjylland though needed extra-time to edge past Hibs in qualifying, and Celtic have had an extra 24 hours to prepare for the fixture.
