Yoane Wissa’s move to Newcastle agreed as financial details emerge
Yoane Wissa is set to join Newcastle United from Brentford on transfer deadline day.
Amid Alexander Isak’s imminent move to Liverpool, Newcastle have pursued fellow striker Wissa, who scored 19 goals in the Premier League last season, and has agreed to move to St James’ Park on Monday, 1 September.
The Magpies have also signed Nick Woltemade from Stuttgart, with Eddie Howe set for a new-look forward line this term.
Despite the North East side’s moves for Woltemade and Wissa, Newcastle supporters have been left furious by Isak’s departure.

After winning the Carabao Cup and qualifying for the Champions League last season, Howe will be eager to ensure that the Magpies remain a powerhouse this term.
However, amid Isak’s previous refusal to play for the North East club, Newcastle are winless in their first three Premier League games, enduring goalless draws with Aston Villa and Leeds United, either side of a 3-2 home defeat to Liverpool.
Now that Howe has signed both Woltemade and Wissa, the St James’ Park club have made up for the outgoings of both Isak and Callum Wilson, who scored his first goal for West Ham United in their 3-0 win at Nottingham Forest on Sunday, 31 August.
Howe needs Wissa to display the strong form he showed in Brentford colours last term, as Newcastle vie to enjoy another successful campaign.
