Rangers striker Alfredo Morelos is attracting interest from an unnamed French club, according to a report, as the Colombian’s Ibrox future looks up in the air.
The Daily Mail claim that the player’s agent is aware of the interest in the striker, months after the Gers turned down £8million from Beijing Renhe.
Morelos has also been attracting interest from Turkey and China according to the report as Gers boss Steven Gerrard looks to build a squad capable of challenging bitter rivals Celtic.
The Colombian ended the season as the Gers joint-top goalscorer with 18 for the season and it would likely take a massive bid to convince the Light Blues to sell their star man.
Football Insider verdict:
Morelos’ future seems uncertain and if a big enough bid is received then it won’t be a surprise to see him move on. A lot may depend on where the 21-year-old sees his future and if he wants to be at Ibrox. The Light Blues could make a hefty sum by moving Morelos on but they need to make sure they have a replacement sorted before considering letting the 18-goal striker move on. This will likely drag on offer the entire summer and not be resolved until close to the end of the transfer window and the Light Blues need to do what they can to avoid the striker being distracted and letting it affect his performances. Morelos has shown he is a prolific goal-scorer and that’s something the Gers can’t afford to do without as they try to end Celtic’s complete domination of Scottish football in recent years under Brendan Rodgers.
