27-year-old axed in Benitez 4-4-1-1: Newcastle best possible XI to face Huddersfield
COMMENT By Harvey Byrne
Rafa Benitez must axe Jack Colback from his side’s midfield when Newcastle face promotion rivals Huddersfield in the Championship on Saturday evening.
The 27-year-old midfielder has been well below par in the centre of the park for quite some time and sections of the Toon fan base have certainly called for him to be pushed out of the team.
He is currently playing regularly alongside star Jonjo Shelvey due to Isaac Hayden’s injury, but Benitez must push Mohamed Diame back into the midfield positions with Ayoze Perez adopting the attacking midfield role.
The Spaniard should also bring top scorer Dwight Gayle into his line-up after it was revealed he would be part of the team following an injury and the 20-goal striker could be the difference between a win and a loss against the Terriers.
Meanwhile, Benitez must enforce one more change for the John Smith’s stadium clash with the more defensively capable Vurnon Anita stepping into the right-back role for DeAndre Yedlin.

Huddersfield are a dangerous team, but they also have the second worst goals for tally in the Championship’s top 10, meaning they can be nullified.
However, they are very good at grinding out wins with 20 from their 33 matches, which could mean a bad result for the Toon if they go behind like the Brighton clash.
It is sure to be a difficult encounter for the north east giants, but a win will see them move 11 points clear of third and this team is certainly capable of picking up all three points.
