Securing reported deal for 32-goal hitman will make Nottingham Forest fans forget Tomlin in an instant
Lee Tomlin has been a hit at the City Ground since his January loan move to the club from Cardiff City and supporters are keen to him stay but with Jack Marriot in their ranks, the 29-year-old would quickly become a distant memory.
Four goals and three assists since the temporary move from the Bluebirds have been the reason for him becoming a favourite amongst fans.
But after Forest were linked with the Peterborough United hitman, Marriot, we imagine that the 23-year-old would hit the ground running.
After netting 32 times in 55 games for the Posh, the 23-year-old has been a hit in the lower leagues and has the attitude it would take to succeed at a higher level.
But he’s attracted interest from other sides in the Championship, including Leeds United and Sheffield Wednesday who are also both said to be eyeing a swoop for the striker.

Forest will need to cough up the cash if they are going to land their target, as Peterborough reportedly rejected a £4million offer for the ace in January.
It’s been a poor season for the club all round and one that has barely improved under the management of Aitor Karanka since his arrival at the club in January taking over from Mark Warburton.
But the signing of the 23-year-old would put a smile on the faces of Reds supporters, who have had little to cheer about this season.
