Agent's 'crazy' demands are holding back Edouard after Celtic update - pundit
Kevin Phillips insists the latest reports on Celtic striker Odsonne Edouard’s wage demands are the work of an agent.
The Sunderland legend, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, reacted to the latest out of Parkhead.
The Scottish Sun reported on 14 August that Edouard, who has a year left on his Parkhead deal, is demanding at least £85,000-a-week.
This site first broke news on 14 August that Ligue 1 outfit OGC Nice are lining up an official bid to sign the Frenchman.
Brighton are also interested in signing Edouard and opened talks to sign him earlier this month, as revealed by Football Insider.
With the transfer window slamming shut in less than two weeks the striker’s future remains up in the air.

Phillips insists Edouard will be going nowhere unless those wage demands are lowered.
“He’s going to have to lower those demands,” Phillips told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.
“That will be his agent I imagine. In that situation, you need to think of the player.
“They need a new club but if you’re demanding ridiculous wages you won’t be going anywhere.
“Missing out on a move over wages is crazy. We’ve been speaking about this transfer for so long.
“If he’s serious about going, he just needs to go. If he goes to the Premier League you will be rewarded if you perform.
“I can’t see anyone paying that.”
Edouard has scored three goals in nine games for the Bhoys this season.
Since joining the club, the Frenchman has scored 86 goals in all competitions.
