Alan Shearer rips into Mike Ashley after defeat v Leicester, sends out dire warning
Premier League record goal-scorer Alan Shearer has taken to Twitter to rant at Mike Ashley following Newcastle’s dreadful 3-2 loss to Leicester City.
The Magpies looked like earning a point until an untimely Ayoze Perez own-goal in the 86th minute gifted the visitors at St James Park all three points.
The ever passionate Shearer was quick to speak out about infamous Club owner Mike Ashley, as Newcastle’s alarming run of form continues.
He pleads with Ashley to sell the club to someone “who wants to be here before it’s too late again.”

Newcastle have just one point from their last seven games, and their last win in the league was way back on the 21st of October, when they beat Crystal Palace 1-0.
Perhaps Shearer’s frustrations stem from the possibilty that Mike Ashley only ever saw Newcastle United as a business, tempting the retired striker to post the message to his official Social Media account.

The noise surrounding the club regarding a possible sale could be the reason for the poor lack of form, as the uncertainty around the club causes distractions to both coaches and players.
The obvious fear for Mike Ashley is having a club as large as Newcastle miss out on the huge TV money that comes part and parcel with the Premier League; but it seems to Shearer he just wants somebody who cares about the club.
Up next for the magpies is another home fixture, this time against fellow struglers Everton.
In other Newcastle news, Mikel Merino’s performance was not good enough today for some Newcastle fans.
