Trent Alexander-Arnold and Man United striker Joshua Zirkzee reacted to a message on social media from Liverpool captain Virgil van Dijk.

Liverpool’s first Premier League title under Arne Slot was made all the sweeter because, unlike their successful but Covid-marred campaign in 2019/20, this one was celebrated in front of a jam-packed Anfield.

The post was then liked by Man United’s injured frontman Zirkzee and seemingly Real Madrid-bound Alexander-Arnold.

The league season is not yet over, but the hard work for next years’ campaign will have already begun in Merseyside.

With a pack of hungry rivals looking to make up for the mistakes of this season, Liverpool will be looking to address the gaps in their squad as soon as possible.

Both fullback spots need investment. Alexander-Arnold becoming a Galactico in Madrid seems a foregone conclusion, whilst Andy Robertson‘s relative downfall makes a new left-back a high priority.

Meanwhile, the number nine spot has been a position Slot has struggled to find an answer to during his maiden season in England.

Darwin Nunez seems likely to leave Liverpool this summer, and Diogo Jota could also be departing after his worst season with the Reds.
