Alexander Isak: ‘Newcastle United could accept huge offer’

Newcastle United star Alexander Isak should not make a move to Man United this summer but top clubs are queuing up to sign him.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, former West Ham United and Celtic striker Frank McAvennie urged the in-demand striker to stay away from Old Trafford as they “don’t create enough chances” for their centre-forwards.

Isak, 24, is on the radar of multiple English sides, with Football Insider revealing (3 April) that Tottenham have joined Arsenal in the race, while it has been suggested that Liverpool and Man United should make a move for him too.

The Sweden international has been a standout for Eddie Howe’s side this season having bagged 21 goals in 34 appearances in all competitions, but Football Insider also revealed (7 April) that the Magpies could be forced to sell him to abide by profit and sustainability rules.

Newcastle ace Isak to have ‘much better’ options than Man United

McAvennie slammed Man United as a “team of individuals” and was confident that Isak could have his pick of stronger clubs.

“Clubs will definitely be looking to sign Isak,” he told Football Insider.

“There’s Tottenham and Arsenal who both seem keen on him.

“But Man United would not be a good destination for him as they just don’t create chances.

“You could put Erling Haaland in that side and even he wouldn’t score!

“They’re a team of individuals, so it would be hard for any striker to go in there.

“I reckon there will be much better teams than Man United coming in for him.

“He would have to be bought for a huge fee, though. Newcastle could accept that”.
