Alfonso Pedraza sends message to Leeds fans after win against Birmingham
By Amir Mir
Alfonso Pedraza has stated that he is “very happy” to have scored his first goal for Leeds during their 3-1 win against Birmingham City on Friday night at St Andrew’s.
Playmaker Pedraza joined the English Championship outfit from La Liga side Villareal in January on a loan deal until the end of the season.
Prior to netting his first goal for the promotion chasers, the Spaniard had appeared on two occasions for the club from the bench.
He once again came off the bench on Friday with his team leading the contest 2-1 as Pedraza made sure of all three points by beautifully slotting the ball home nine minutes from time.
Here was Pedraza expressing his delight to the supporters after he helped them seal a valuable win on the road.

“Very happy to score my first goal for Leeds,” Pedraza wrote on his personal Twitter account. “But, especially happy for such an important win.”

Prior to Pedraza coming on, it was his teammate and striker Chris Wood who had done much of the damage against the Championship strugglers.
He opened the scoring in the first half before adding more misery on the home support by scoring within three minutes of them equalising after the break.
Nonetheless, the win meant that the Whites have now won back-to-back games after they beat their Yorkshire rivals Sheffield Wednesday last Saturday.
Garry Monk’s side have an important set of matches coming up this month, starting with an away trip to promotion rivals Fulham next Tuesday.
After that, they host back-to-back games at Elland Road, first Ian Holloway’s QPR pay a visit before automatic hopefuls Brighton travel to Yorkshire on March 18.
