All 16 words Ange Postecoglou said about Murillo after Nottingham Forest injury blow

Ange Postecoglou was quizzed over the seriousness of Murillo’s injury after being subbed off for Nottingham Forest against Midtjylland.

Murillo has been a key figure for Forest in his three seasons in the Premier League, partnering up perfectly with Nikola Milenkovic during Nuno Espirito Santo‘s reign at the City Ground.

Nuno was sacked 23 days ago, and already Forest fans want Postecoglou sacked, with the new manager without his victory from his first six matches in charge across all competitions.

Forest lost 1-0 to Sunderland at the weekend, and on Thursday, 2 October, things went from bad to worse as one of the club’s most dependable centre-backs was forced off with an injury.

Ange Postecoglou confirms Murillo injury fears at the City Ground

Murillo had been in considerable pain from the early moments against Midtjylland, with commentators making several comments about the grimace on his face and his visible limp.

He continued to battle until hitting the floor in the 26th minute, just two minutes after going 2-1 behind, being replaced by new signing Nicolo Savona midway through the first half.

Speaking to the press after the game, Postecoglou said, “I’m not sure. I haven’t seen him, so I’m not really sure what’s wrong with him,” adding zero comfort to the fans’ worries.

Nottingham Forest’s injury problems begin to mount up

Douglas Luiz was injured during the game against Real Betis, being taken off at the half-time break, with the Brazilian joining Ola Aina and Oleksandr Zinchenko on the treatment table.

Aina’s injury was the biggest blow of them all, given how attacking Forest’s full-backs have been over the last few seasons, but losing Murillo could be a season-defining injury for Postecoglou.

Many supporters are already worried about what the season holds under Postecoglou, with the Australian unable to win any of his five matches in charge before facing Midtjylland.

He is already losing the faith of the supporters, with many calling for the return of Nuno, who has now gone to West Ham, and the performance in Europe has not helped his case at all.
