Michael Brown has suggested that Leeds United have “more than one new signing up their sleeve” this summer.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider assistant editor Russell Edge, the former Leeds midfielder admits it is “amazing” and “exciting” to see the Whites linked with proven international talent this summer.
As revealed by Football Insider, Leeds have turned their attentions to the likes of Brentford’s Ollie Watkins and Chelsea’s Michy Batshuayi after their pursuit of Liverpool’s Rhian Brewster hit a dead end.
Brown believes that players will be attracted to the prospect of moving to Elland Road thanks to the stature of the club and suggests there may be more than one new face through the door.
Brown told Football Insider: “Leeds are a big club, players will want to go to them, they will understand with that manager how he can develop you.
“There will be lots of players still linked right until the end of the window and you wouldn’t be surprised if Leeds United have more than one new signing up their sleeve.
“It just shows you the names that we’re talking about, it’s amazing, isn’t it? That’s how far Leeds have come. These are all exciting names but until they’re over the line… it is exciting to be linked with such players.”
Robin Koch and Rodrigo Moreno have been the Whites’ big-name signings for the first-team so far, while Illan Meslier and Helder Costa have turned their loan stays permanent.
Promising talents Joe Gelhardt, Cody Drameh and Charlie Allen have also arrived at Elland Road to bolster the under-23s and offer competitions for the senior side.
