Andy Cole has predicted a busy summer transfer window for Newcastle after the club secured promotion by beating Preston on Monday night.
Rafa Benitez saw his side triumph over Simon Grayson’s Lilywhites by four goals to one at St. James’ Park, thanks to strikes from Matt Ritchie, Christian Atsu and a brace from Ayoze Perez.
Posting on his personal Twitter account after his old side gained promotion to the Premier League, Cole congratulated Benitez and Newcastle’s “loyal fans”.
He also claimed that the former Liverpool and Real Madrid manager is set to enter a busy summer transfer window, as he looks to keep the Toon in England’s top flight next season.

The Toon are already being reportedly credited with an interest in a whole host of players from the Premier League, after they joined Brighton in climbing into the top tier.
With 11 players also on loan at different clubs from the north east outfit, Benitez is likely to orchestrate a summer overhaul on Tyneside in terms of both incoming and outgoing transfers.
Newcastle still have two Championship games to play this season, as they travel to Cardiff on Friday before playing host to Barnsley on May 7.
With four points separating the Toon from league leaders Brighton, they will be hoping to secure six points and for the Seagulls to slip up in order to be promoted as champions.
Former Man United, Blackburn and Fulham striker Cole scored 69 goals during his time with Newcastle, making a total of 86 appearances in all competitions.
In other Newcastle news, Michael Gray has urged the Toon to sign this proven Premier League goalscorer in the summer.
