'Go and get him' - Micky Gray urges Newcastle to sign this proven PL striker (not Rodriguez)

Newcastle must sign Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge as he will provide the goals to keep them in the Premier League, according to talkSPORT presenter Micky Gray.
The 25-time England international could be set to leave the Merseyside giants in the summer after another season that has been constantly interrupted by injury.
Speaking on talkSPORT, former Sunderland defender Gray claimed Newcastle must bring the former Chelsea striker to St. James’ Park because he could score 20 goals next season.
“They should absolutely go and get him,” Sturridge said. “Newcastle would snap your hands off right now for somebody like Sturridge.

“He is a goalscorer who is going to get you 15, 20 goals a season. They might only get 25 to 30 games out of him at a push but those 15, 20 goals will keep you in the Premier League for another season.”
Newcastle gained promotion to the Premier League at the first attempt on Monday evening, after being relegated to the Championship last season.
Manager Rafa Benitez watched from the sidelines as the Toon demolished 10-man Preston 4-1 on Tyneside, thanks to goals from Christian Atsu, Matt Ritchie and a brace from Ayoze Perez.
Sturridge has been pushed down the pecking order at Anfield, with the likes of Roberto Firmino and Divock Origi preferred to the Reds’ number 15.
Football Insider verdict:
Signing a player like Sturridge, for the majority of the Premier League’s clubs, would prove to be a fantastic deal. His record in England’s top flight is hard to beat, scoring 72 goals and providing another 28 assists in 181 appearances. That effectiveness in the final third could prove crucial in keeping the Toon away from a relegation dog fight, but may spell the end for other Toon strikers. Dwight Gayle has top scored for Newcastle this season, but Aleksandar Mitrovic and Daryl Murphy could find their future at St. James’ Park under threat as Benitez looks to make room for new talent.
In other Newcastle transfer news, this striker is the most likely player to join the Toon in the summer according to Sky Whispers.
