Anthony Elanga responds to Elliot Anderson message amid Newcastle transfer interest
Anthony Elanga has responded to a message from Nottingham Forest teammate Elliot Anderson, while Newcastle United want to sign the winger.
The former Manchester United man helped Forest seal Conference League qualification last term by notching a thoroughly decent return of six goals and 11 assists in 38 Premier League appearances.
Perhaps it is no surprise, then, that Newcastle United have bid for Elanga’s services as Eddie Howe looks to strengthen his ranks ahead of competing in next season’s Champions League.
The Sweden international has been at the heart of Forest’s transition from a relegation battler to as side that came close to landing a top-five spot.

Elanga responds to Anderson’s messaga amid Newcastle swap deal talk
Newcastle could require a new winger this summer if Anthony Gordon joins Liverpool after impressing in the North East.
But amid the speculation surrounding Elanga’s future, the 23-year-old congratulated Nottingham Forest teammate Anderson on reaching the Under 21 European Championship final with England.
Posting on Instagram on Wednesday, 25 June, Anderson wrote: “Big performance! Onto the final!”
Elanga commented: “Captain, yeah.”
Meanwhile, Harvey Barnes could be part of a swap deal if Elanga joins Newcastle from Forest ahead of next season.

Amid the transfer talk surrounding Elanga, Forest also have a real gem on their hands in Anderson, who has excelled with the England Under-21s this summer.

Throughout the tournament, the 22-year-old has displayed his tenacity, while in the latter stages, his creative ability has also shone, as he scored against Spain in the quarter-finals before notching an assist against the Netherlands in the semi-finals.
Should England beat Germany in Saturday’s final and retain their Under-21 Euros title, Anderson is likely to play a key role for Lee Carsley’s Young Lions.
Meanwhile, despite coming close to silverware in recent years, England still lack a midfield metronome, hence why Thomas Tuchel has recently called upon former favourite Jordan Henderson, who had been absent from the international scene for a significant period.
But one player who could help plug that gap, alongside the likes of Crystal Palace star Adam Wharton, is Nottingham Forest talent Anderson.
