Arne Slot ‘will develop Jamie Bynoe-Gittens into a superstar at Liverpool’

Liverpool-wanted Jamie Bynoe-Gittens has enjoyed a breakout season at Borussia Dortmund and Europe’s elite clubs are now forming an orderly queue for his signature.

The young winger has played a key role for Dortmund this season, catching the attention of senior scouts and recruitment teams with his dynamic displays.

Football Insider previously revealed that Chelsea were interested in signing Bynoe-Gittens during the January transfer window, but a move ultimately failed to materialise.

Former Tottenham goalkeeper Paul Robinson believes Liverpool are keeping a close eye on the 20-year-old, stating that he’s a player “Liverpool will certainly be looking at” as they prepare to strengthen their attack.

This comes after former Manchester United and Blackburn chief scout Mick Brown told Football Insider that Liverpool scouts have attended multiple Borussia Dortmund matches to monitor Bynoe-Gittens closely.

Jamie Bynoe-Gittens could thrive under Arne Slot at Liverpool

The former Manchester City academy prospect has shone in the Bundesliga this season, scoring 11 goals and providing five assists across all competitions.

The 20-year-old, who moved to Borussia Dortmund in 2023, has taken his game to the next level this season in terms of goal output as he scored just twice last season.

Speaking on Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, Robinson believes Bynoe-Gittens “will become a better player” under Arne Slot if the club push for a deal.

He told Football Insider: “This is a player isn’t he? He’s a really good player, he’s a top class player that a lot of clubs in Europe are to be looking at. Liverpool sit at the moment in a really good position.

Liverpool manager Arne Slot

“Top of the Premier League, looking one of the favourites to win the Champions League. And at 20 years old, at Dortmund, we know what grounding that Dortmund gives players, gives good young players. Listen, Jude Bellingham is the one that you look at.

“He’s an England international. You look at what he’s done, the academy at Manchester City, Reading, he’s a player that’s familiar with this country. He’s gone to Dortmund, it rings true, Bellingham, Jadon Sancho. You look at the players there.

“Contracted till June 2028, so it’s going to cost a fee, cost a real fee. But if Liverpool are to rejuvenate, if they are to move on, if they are to invest, he’s certainly a player that they’ll be looking at.

“I like him. I really like him. And at 20 years old, I think there’s a lot more to come. Under a coach like Arne Slot, I think he’ll develop, I think he’ll become a better player.

“There’s no substitute playing week in and week out, that’s what he’s got at the top level, at the very top level. If he’s going to come to Liverpool and he’s going to be quashed and not play and be a bit part player. Look what happened to Jadon Sancho at Manchester United. There’s two sides to the coin, but I think he’s a better player than him.”

Liverpool expected to strengthen their forward line

With Diogo Jota linked with a move to Arsenal and Liverpool fans calling for Luis Diaz to be sold, the Reds could target a left-sided winger in the transfer window.

Bynoe-Gittens has gained valuable first-team experience at Dortmund over the past two seasons, and his rapid development is evident.

Since Liverpool made no major signings in Slot’s first few transfer windows, investment in the attack could be a priority—especially if one of their key forwards departs this summer.
