'Utterly useless', 'Embarrassing' – Arsenal fans blame one man for loss v Bournemouth
Arsenal put in another unconvincing performance at the Vitality Stadium on Sunday afternoon, in the absence of both Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil
They took the lead in the second half through a Hector Bellerin goal but two Bournemouth strikes saw them suffer yet another shock defeat in the Premier League.
Arsenal haven’t won in the Premier League now since the Crystal Palace match on December 28.
Arsenal fans weren’t happy with a number of performances from Arsenal players, but saved most of their criticism for midfielder Granit Xhaka.
He offered little in the middle of the pitch and seemed to be playing out of his usual position for most of the game.
Here is a selection of tweets from disgruntled Arsenal fans:
Xhaka is utterly useless

Someone needs to tell Xhaka that making braindead fouls doesn't make you a DM.

What was it that Wenger saw in Xhaka to make him spend £30m, not sure id pay a Freddo and a can of Coke for him.

Xhaka will be gone soon if these performances continue as well

Xhaka failing to track AGAIN making him at fault for the second goal. He was $5m pounds more expensive than Kante. Shambles. #BOUARS

Xhaka offers nothing. Absolutely nothing

Xhaka I have to say deserves a lot of criticism after this match. His terrible awareness cost us a clear chance at goal and Mousset scored because he was far too slow to react.

Commentator just said Xhaka rarely gives the ball away????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

How is Xhaka a professional footballer? Reckon I've still got a shot at making it!

That is embarrassing from xhaka. Lazy defending.

The result leaves Arsenal in sixth place in the table, five points behind rivals Tottenham who enjoyed a 4-0 win against Everton on Saturday.
They’re also five points behind Liverpool in the final Champions League spot, and the Reds have a game in hand.
