Middlesbrough winger Adama Traore has been linked with a move to Chelsea – and Aston Villa fans on Twitter have been shocked by the news.

Sky Sports claimed on their official Twitter account that the Premier League leaders have approached Boro about the availability of the 20-year-old.

The former Barcelona man joined Villa under then-manager Tim Sherwood during the summer of 2015 when they were a Premier League club for a fee of £7million.

He went on to endure a difficult spell with the Midlands club, failing to make a single start in 11 league appearances as Villa were relegated to the Championship.

Following Villa’s relegation, he came on as a late substitute in August against Rotherham but then joined Middlesbrough on a four-and-a-half year deal in August.

As the news filtered through regarding the Traore speculation fans were surprised to hear that Antonio Conte’s side are interested in his services.

Supporters stated that the pacy winger has no end product as they believe if Chelsea signed him it will be a terrible piece of business.

Another fan was hoping that Villa will get some sort of sell on fee if Traore joins the London club.

But others lauded his potential by stating that Blues manager Conte can get the best out of the youngster.

Here is a selection of their messages on Twitter:
