Aston Villa fans react on Twitter as Xia delivers emphatic transfer view
By Matt Farr
Aston Villa owner Tony Xia has hit out at recent rumours linking star striker Jonathan Kodjia with a move away from the club – and fans on Twitter are delighted with his response.
The Mirror claimed in their print edition of the paper on Monday (page 49) that Premier League outfit Everton were considering a summer move for Kodjia.
But Xia swiftly moved to emphatically shut down the rumours on his personal Twitter account on Tuesday morning, slamming the media and agents for playing games at Aston Villa’s expense.
No more rumors, we need stability and calmness in dressing room. Don't like either medias or agents' trick/game for now. https://t.co/brS8JngJG3

Kodjia, 27, is rated by the Midlands club in the £20million bracket, having played a starring role in front of goal this season.
The Ivory Coast international has scored 19 goals in all competitions for Aston Villa this season, and currently tops the Championship goalscoring charts.

For a change I am pretty optimistic we won't sell. As you say, no reason we should. And as I tweeted other day, right men in charge now.

Kodjia is still only in his first season with the club, having joined Aston Villa from Bristol City at the start of the season.
But his impressive performances in the second tier have caught the eye of a number of sides in the top flight, and the club could face a tough battle to retain his services if their late promotion bid fails.
In other Aston Villa news, Steve Bruce has made a big claim about the club, and it will infuriate Newcastle fans.
