Aston Villa news: Expert issues verdict on Keinan Davis comeback after source’s reveal
Alan Hutton has backed Aston Villa striker Keinan Davis to join newly-promoted Nottingham Forest this summer.
The former Villa defender, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, claimed the 24-year-old has “all the attributes” to succeed in the Premier League despite his patchy top-flight record.
Davis notched five goals and three assists in 22 appearances during a six-month loan spell at Nottingham Forest as they secured promotion via the play-offs.
Football Insider revealed earlier this year (21 April) that Forest will move for Davis if they confirm promotion – with a bid of £4million likely to be accepted.
This site also revealed on 18 April that Norwich are keen to reunite manager Dean Smith with the striker – who is out of contract in June 2024.
Hutton backed Davis to join Forest and become the “main man” as they attempt to survive the drop in the 2022-23 season.
“I think it’s time for him to move on,” he told Football Insider‘s Russell Edge.
“It’s been difficult for him at Villa. He was outstanding at first, and showed real ability leading that line – but then injury kicked in. He was in and out a lot.
“This is a real opportunity now to go to another big club in Nottingham Forest and lead the line, be the main man. He can prove to everyone that he can do that, stay fit, and score goals.
“The main question of him will be – can he do it in the Premier League?

“I think he’s got all the attributes, but it’s just up to him to put the ball in the back of the net.
“Moving on and playing week-in, week-out – it will only be a good thing for him.”
